How to Search DeSoto Parish Sex Offenders Online
DeSoto Parish is one of the few Louisiana parishes that runs its own sex offender search portal through OffenderWatch. The DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office hosts the sex offenders map at dpso.org/sexOffendersMap. This tool lets you search by name or location and view offender locations on a map. Results include photos, addresses, offense details, and registration tier. The map is useful for checking any neighborhood in Mansfield or elsewhere in the parish.
As noted on the sheriff's website: "Sex Offenders Map. CONTACT 205 Franklin St, Mansfield, LA 71052 318-872-3956 Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY." The portal is available any time online, but office staff are available for questions Monday through Friday during those hours.
You can also search through the Louisiana State Police sex offender registry, which covers all 64 parishes statewide. The LSP tool and the DeSoto OffenderWatch portal pull from the same underlying registration data, so results should be consistent. If you find a discrepancy between the two, contact the sheriff's office to report it. The LSP hotline is 1-800-858-0551, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM CDT.
The DeSoto Parish Sheriff also maintains a mobile app that includes sex offender information for the parish. As the sheriff's office has noted publicly: "Both suspects are listed on the State Sex Offender website, as well as in the DeSoto Parish Sheriff App under Sex Offenders." The app is another way to access registry data while on the go in the parish.

DeSoto Parish Sex Offender Registration Requirements
Sex offender registration in Louisiana is governed by RS 15:540 and the statutes that follow it through RS 15:549. Every person convicted of a qualifying offense must register, including those who received probation without prison time. The offense is what matters, not the sentence.
Louisiana uses a three-tier classification system. Tier I offenders register once a year for 15 years. Tier II offenders register every 6 months for 25 years. Tier III offenders, with the most serious convictions, must register every 90 days for life. The tier is set at sentencing and does not change based on behavior or time served after release. Offenders cannot petition their way to a lower tier simply by completing their sentence.
Under RS 15:542, each registered offender in DeSoto Parish must register with three agencies: Louisiana State Police, the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office, and any local police department in a city where they live, work, or attend school. Missing even one is a separate felony charge. An offender who lives in Mansfield and commutes to work in Caddo or Bossier Parish must also register in those parishes.
The definitions of qualifying offenses and registrant duties appear in RS 15:541. That statute also establishes the public right of access to registry data and warns that using the registry to threaten or harass a registrant may result in criminal charges against the person doing so.
Registration is not a one-time event. Each time an offender changes their home address, employer, school, or online identifier, they must report to all three agencies within 3 business days. Moving within the same city still triggers the 3-day window. Moving out of state requires notification to LSP before leaving Louisiana.

The LSP registry gives access to all registered sex offenders in DeSoto Parish and statewide, with search by name, address, and map view.
Each record in the OffenderWatch portal and the LSP system includes the offender's full name, any aliases, current home address, date of birth, physical description, and photograph. The offense or offenses that triggered registration are listed along with the conviction date and court. Employer address and school address are included when provided. Online identifiers such as email accounts and social media usernames are also required and appear when on record.
The tier classification and registration frequency appear in each profile. This tells you whether the offender is on an annual, semi-annual, or 90-day schedule. Records in the OffenderWatch system are typically updated promptly after the offender reports to the Special Services Division. If you spot what looks like an outdated address, call 318-872-3956 or the LSP hotline at 1-800-858-0551 to report it.
