Registration Tiers in Central

But because Central is still within EBR Parish, the EBR Sheriff's Office retains a role in sex offender registration alongside the city police.

This dual-agency requirement can cause confusion for new registrants moving into Central. Both agencies must receive your registration. Do not assume that registering with Central PD alone is enough. You must also visit the EBR Sheriff and the LSP.

If you move from another part of EBR Parish into the city of Central, you still need to re-register with the Central PD since you now fall under a new law enforcement jurisdiction. The 3-day window applies from the date of the move.
